Unfortunately we've had "social conservatives" take over the Republican party the last couple of decades.
It's like everybody in the U.S. HATES having fun in anyway shape or form.
If you poll people it's overwhelmingly against drugs, prostitution, and gambling.
But yet, once the pollsters walk away? Well magically... MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of those same Americans DO exactly what they lied to the pollsters about.
It's too bad people won't just grow a fucking set and demand to be free. But the govt. has run a brilliant propaganda campaign for decades.
Problem is it backfires. They paint drugs as being this horrible horrible thing. And they try to teach kids that if they smoke pot they will end up ruining their lives and become addicted. And they teach them that they will die and become addicted the first time they snort coke.
Then when the kids do try it for the thrill...they find out that propaganda was all a bunch of lies and that it's FUN to get high.
I feel like the govt. should just get the fuck out of people's lives. Their laws don't stop anybody from doing drugs. And when I ask people who DON'T do drugs if they suddenly would start doing them if they became legal...most of them say "no".
Face facts folks...when I was a teenager we were all smoking pot by the 7th grade. That's what "cool" was back then.
Go to any nightclub...you want some coke? You can find it easily.
Legalizing these things won't make it "easier" to get. It's ALREADY easy as hell. Always has been and always will be. Legalizing it will just take away power from the govt. and give it back to you. And the govt. can still get their nut off of the taxes on it that they are losing out on to the drug cartels everyday.
