RAID also takes much longer to restore. A single drive scheme works great as long as you don't rely on a single copy. Drive failure? Unplug, replug replacement, re-run a new clone on a new drive when you have time..... done.

I used a RAID system until a drive actually failed once, and took 3 days to restore. Fuck that noise.
