baggers and republicans hate the constitution in general, and are often christian fanatics who hate the idea of religious freedom, so it's understandable that baggers and republicans would like this as a wedge issue.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out demographically. The demo suggests it's a losing ploy that will be seen as the anti-constitutional and un-american hate rant that the baggers admit that it is.

but you never know - the simple existence of this as a media-promoted wedge issue is intersesting in itself. That anti-constitutionlism and anti-private-property rights are being embraced by the baggers and palin-americans tells us something profound about the ethical condition of the average american.

and of course the media loves it as divide-and-conquer tabloidesque content.
