Just digging up on some financial reports of such organisations here in our country:

Tsunami in Thailand, the Dutch gave 208 Million Euro (198 was spend in 3(!) years with a kickback of 700K+ intrest, the rest was management fee and administration costs I read. That's around 10 million missing...)

Haiiti, the Dutch gave 111 Million Euro (so far 20 million was sent there...first they draw 3 to 5 years of intrest(?) before they release the rest in chunks).

Pakistan, the Dutch gave 1 Million+ so far.

Allthough the disaster is huge and the local situation there is horrible, it seems the media can influence what people give in aid. And the media are not really "pushing" it this time on TV like they did with the Tsunami in Thailand.
