The industrial age is a little over 100 years old and there is no disputing that has caused abnormal amounts of CO2 to enter the atmosphere. The question is how much EXTRA CO2 can the earth handle before the scales are tipped in the delicate balance of that natural cycle.

Let's say your car is earth and your closed garage is the atmosphere. Your car sits there parked for years and you can go in the garage even though CO2 is present and be perfectly healthy because nature has a way of balancing things out.

Then one day you start up the car and let it run. This adds an abnormal amount of CO2 and it's way too much for nature to handle naturally. The end result is the garage is no longer inhabitable.
