It is very cheap here and more so if you avoid the tourist spots. Food that cost 30 baht at the food stall in Pattaya cost 20 baht here.
Here a large Leo or Chang in a farang place costs 60 Baht, in a local spot it costs 50/45 baht :D I know the wholesale price and its not much more than a 5 baht profit for them.
So, where are ya? I get large bottle of Leo for 45 baht here. Sounds like you're in Issan somewhere too. :-)

Same with you as rent. Nice, 2 storey, 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house, large patio, kitchen, etc... for $150/month. Then maybe another $150/month (at most) for bills, and that's it. Yet, we still manage to spend a good $3500/month.
