while those things may be true, it takes the level of complexity to an even high level when dealing with a cam based site or site that is built around LIVE interaction.
If the guy did get the site featured on some big website that sent him 100,000's of hits right away then yeah, that would be more of an explanation that I was trying to find. He got lucky or had a connection to a ton of traffic.
I'll make myself sound stupid to you and ask, what is a "meme" and "4chan".
