I'm not comparing methods of execution here but simply pointing out that it's all barbaric. Just because you do it in a more humane way does not make it right. You've evolved from lynchings and the Europeans have evolved from beheadings but let's not get ahead of ourselves ...

That's not a BRUTAL execution?
You can think of me what you will, I've said this umpteen times but I'll repeat it again:
I do not condone what is happening in Iran, the methods they use are especially horrifying but I don't condone executions as a general rule and on the face of it, this is exactly what it was, an execution. However horrifying and tragic, it is the way they do things in their part of the world. With you being so much more advanced than they are, what's your excuse?

I'm not going to comment on that video, (nor am I going to watch it). You're bringing up random acts of violence.
As for you bringing up capital punishment in this thread..
There are only a very small percentage of people who commit crimes as hainess to receive such a sentence. People who rape and kill entire families and/or countless innocent people. Even then, it is not a swift decision, someone who is actually put to death spends an average of 10 years on death row going through the appeals process.
Only 2% of people on death row are actually put to death.
You can read the facts here:
http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/
When a jury weighs capital punishment, the death of the convicted murderer against the loss of life of his victims and the possibility of potential future victims that maybe murdered is considered, (someone who commits a hainess enough crime to receive capital punishment is likely to murder again in prison).
The most important thing to remember is, when someone commits a felony like multiple murder, it's of free will. DNA testing and other methods of modern crime scene science can now effectively eliminate almost all uncertainty as to a person's guilt or innocence. Even after being convicted their case is scrutinized from every possible angle for an average of 10 years.
Even then, in some ways, I'm against the death penalty, (and not necessarily all for the rights of the murderer).
However, it has NO FUCKING BEARING ON THIS THREAD.
This thread is about :
TORTURE AND MURDER.
No one was put to death for a crime here; a woman was murdered by a bunch of crazy mother fuckers and it's condoned by nearly an entire population of people. Bringing up the death penalty and possible war crimes, (while also sad) in this thread has to be one of the most retarded arguments I've heard in awhile.
This is an entire religion of people who created a law that not only takes a person's free will, THEY MURDER AND TORTURE THEM IF THEY DON'T COMPLY.
Just the fact that you would call the original poster a person living in a glass house throwing stones means you're one of the biggest morons and pieces of shit on this board.
Seriously, I think I can speak for everyone when I say, go fuck yourself.
