Had a secretary at my office pump me for 85K in a month, no joke. This is in my professional business though.
She was signing herself cash checks, double payroll checks, etc. She did it the only month she could have, in August, while everyone was on vacation and the office shift was extremely light.
When she was arrested, she told me she had done this at many different other companies, but they always cheated on their books and never reported her because they were afraid of getting audited.
She could have done alot more damage, but thankfully we asked our main accountant to come back to do our end of year reconciliation and thats when she was found. She was sentenced to like 1 month at Rikers and restitution and now every month or so I get a check in the mail for like 350 bucks. Its going to take her a looooooooong time to pay that off, my kids will be getting those in the mail.
Anyway, sucks and sorry to hear. Get to writing that code
