Base upon the sate you reside in as well as where you wish to buy the firearm. You may also have limits as to how many you can buy within a given period.
Muzzle loaders have the least hoops to jump through and again varies state by state.
Handguns and the most restrictions other than fully automatic weapons, short barreled rifles and shotguns and of course silencers.
Walmart is limiting their firearms and ammo sales in many markets. Gone from all of my close by Florida stores and with my Florida CCW I can not buy any firearms in TN where Walmart does still carry guns (at VERY LOW PRICES) although I was open carrying a sidearm today in NC. I can't do that in Florida.
