Drug prohibition is a terrible idea because it means that organized crime can make a killing selling drugs. It has lead to massive amount of deaths.
Alcohol prohibition ended, and organized crime moved on to something else. When drug prohibition ends, organized crime will move on to something else, hopefull something less destructive.
