Michael, strictly from a PR standpoint. If you have no news to share, you would have been better off saying something like:
We are working day and night to solve the problem. The reason we aren't posting detailed messages on GFY is that we know people here will parse each sentence looking for hidden meanings or make up false meanings for anything that we communicate - so it really is not helpful for us to give you partial details of the news when we are hopeful that we will actually have complete news available for you soon.
Our primary job is getting your money available for you to use as quickly as possible - so we are allocating all of our time and effort to the task of tracking down every possible method of completing that mission as quickly as possible, rather than taking the enormous amount of time needed to draft pretty memos that mean nothing while your money remains in limbo. We are aware that any message other than 'your funds are now available' is not going to be sufficient to keep our clients happy. Let us get you your money back NOW and we will be glad to talk all about what happened and how we solved it after that important work is completed. Your money is safe, our company is rock solid and as soon as we are able to announce that your funds are available we will be glad to do so.
Saying news will be available tomorrow really created a spotlight that could only backfire...
