Press Secretary Robert Gibbs kind of put things in perspective during the Wednesday or Thursday daily briefing*. The Florida church and pastor has only 30+- members, This is a small micro-niche congregation at best.
There have consistently been more news media reporters present then there are members of his following.
Like many other events in our day-to-day lives the news media turned this tiny unimportant event into a global catastrophic 'newsworthy' happening.
Who (globally) really cares about a handful of people in nowhere Florida, USA?
I don't agree with the Dove World Outreach Center but will defend to my death their right to do whatever. Rev Terry Jones called it off mid-afternoon Saturday. I don't get the impression he cow-towed to international pressure but rather he respects the wishes of the President of the United States. He may or may not side with Obama but he respects the Office.
Something funny (to me anyway) is the fact Terry Jones and Rush Limbaugh were classmates at Cape Central High School in Cape Girardeau, Missouri**. Must have been sumthun' in the water that disrupted their thought patterns, ya' think?
