Sorry to hear support hasn't gotten back to you. They have been quick to respond the few times I contacted them. If you haven't done so already you might try submitting a NEW support ticket to ask if they've received your most recent support ticket(s).

As to the 777 issue, I am running my htaccess as 644 with no problem. It's some of the scripts I use on some sites and parts of Wordpress that I use on others that needed to set as 777. The parts of WP that needed higher permissions were some of plugins and the the themes.

I only changed those WP plugins I absolutely needed to 777 and stopped using the others as I want a minimum # of possible access points. The themes I just leave at 644, 755 or whatever their defaults are (am not on my own computer right now) and just ftp in and edit by hand as needed.

As to the scripts used on other sites, I worked through them on a trial and error basis to find out what parts needed to be set at 777 and which parts ran fine with more limited access.

Wish I could give you more specifics but everybody's setup is different. Plus I'm sure the team at Amerinoc will get you dialed in soon.
