I actually don't count anything, I eat anything I want whenever I want but only on occasions I stuff myself to a point where I can't breath)
I realize our body needs just a much or as little to keep going and rebuild its cells, not to be full all the time (when you are used to being full and can't stand a bit of empty stomach - thats an addition imho). So whenever I don't physically move much roughly 1.5 meals is plentiful for myself. And keep in mind I can eat carbs and sugars all day long.
When I'm physically active my "intake" increases as well, on family events and such during holidays few times a year i eat to a point where i can't breath, just to give some stress run for my digestive system)
I've almost always stayed in a same weight range for most adult life. only once within 3 month I've gained 30 pounds - wasn't burning much energy but having full 2.5 meals each day, I've noticed my belly started growing lol, after that when i got to my usual diet it took about 6 month to organically get back to my usual shape without extra effort - just eating whenever i want and what i want but without an obsession.
