Obama free health care is not about providing health care to people who can't afford it. Most states already had programs... CA has Medi-Cal - which if you are actually broke - you qualify for. The also have a 'Healthy Families' program that lets you get low cost provider based (Health Net) insurance at a reduced rate ($70/month for 5 kids). As long as you earn less than like $40k - you qualified.

A very large percentage of the 30 million un-insurred number is revolving. They included people who left one job for another and were without insurance for 30, 60 or 90 days. The entire 'Obama Care' plan is not about fixing the health care industry... is the first step to a 'single payer' system.
