As I said way back on the first page, this thread was over dramatic and pointless until people clarified the settlement or reactivation procedure with the bank.

When the bank opened next day, they immediately indicated their intent to restore access to balance information and funds, and have given an indication of date when they believe that will be possible which is pretty reasonable considering what is involved.

IF the bank do not believe that they are able to pay what is owing to people (who can prove their identity), then no end of chest beating and ambulance chasing lawyer instructing will change that, no matter how many of you join with Robin Hood Shap.

They won't settle loudest first and continue on a first come first served basis until the money is gone, it will be all or none, because showing preference is also an offense in insolvency/bankruptcy which I don't think will be the case here but would be the ONLY reason you wouldn't get paid out....if you were able to prove your identity of course.
