I don't like tubes myself. I think they are messy and wouldn't want to run one, but essentially I have nothing against them, many of them are even legal, so I'd say if they can be profitable, more power to them.
This being said I don't see why sponsors taking that traffic should be punished, and I really don't see the comparison to shaving you made.
