It's not trendy at all. Trendy would imply that it's a "fad" of some sort. People have hated on the states for a long time now, and they will continue to for a long time. Have any of you stopped to consider for a moment that people hate on America because, well, you're not at all likable? If the world were a highschool, the US is that asshole jock who nobody likes, but everybody deals with anyways because he might suckerpunch them in the face.
