It's incredible to think we're in 2010 and the Western World still performs this ancient practice. The original reason for doing this was to reduce sexual pleasure (same as female circumcision) so as the son would be less likely to bring shame on the family i.e. he would have a better chance of thinking with his head (not the other head)
