i think you can have both. have the legal to cover your back.
but also have plain english to make it easy to understand.
at the end of the day its easer to put people off than to go to court.
its also nice for the member to be told in a friendly way. if i joined a site and all i could read was legall stuff it would put me off the site. but if it was in a nice way it would warm me to the site, plus i would feel if i spotted pirated content i would report it.
