I remember this optimistic thread a few weeks ago: "Epassporte UPDATE 9/17 8:49am Possible reinstatement of visa cards" and my reply to it:

It still surprises me that so many webmasters believed things will work out and they will get their money back after all the too-big-to-run sponsors and processors have ran with webmaster money since the start of this industry. I can't think of a single instance where webmasters got their money back. Anyone?
I wish everyone success with this lawsuit, but most likely they've moved all funds to an offshore bank account, possibly in the name of a trust, and there's no personal liability.
I think it's time to cut out these middleman card companies and find a solution with banks - EU has this option already and now US banks are also testing free bank-to-bank transfers between the major banks, takes 3 days atm, but will become faster, maybe even instant like Paypal soon. Sponsors could just offer international affiliates the service of assisting them with opening an US bank account when a certain balance has been reached.
Someone could start offering the service of opening US accounts for non-US webmasters. I know it was pretty much impossible to open an US bank over phone/internet from Europe after 9/11, but when I stepped into an US bank branch, it was setup in minutes, and instantly got a debit card and check book.
Lets consolidate the industry and make it stronger.
