As I said you DO NOT ping every link right away. The preferred method is to let google index them naturally. You get 20k links in 7 days but Google doesn't find them right away... Remember when you first started your site and were like "why the hell am I not indexed by Google yet?!?!?" and it took a while... well imagine if you didn't go through 500 hoops to speed up the process and you just let them do it naturally... and there you go.
This is just an Illustrated story. You may or may not have gone through this. I don't even know if you have a site. I just assume you do since you're on GFY.

Well it really depends what you are trying to do. If you simply want more backlinks no matter where they come from then it works.
