You might want to look for an animal lovers message board, I thought I read something before about places where you could find animal lovers who are travelling or going on vacations (say driving from NYC down to florida for a week) who would be willing to bring the puppy to you, provided you pick it up at their convenience. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I would rather have a dog person take care of it for a couple days on the road than fedex it overnight
