Because not every company will accept a mobile phone on account verification for starters champ? Such as Paypal for example. They require a land line for account verification. Although they are not the only one.

You need a fax, assuming you are actually a business and not a hobbyist. Although I suppose you could pay monthly for one of those software fax dealios if you like.
Some prefer talking on a hard line for business deals versus some static filled, fade in and out, cell phone? Nothing irritates me more than a phone cutting in and out.
Those are just a few examples I can think of off the top of my head.
