Another time I had parked my big Jimmy 3+3 one ton at a Perkins early on a Sunday morning to have breakfast with some of the local farmers. Left the keys locked in the truck, so some moron broke the wing window, stole my leather jacket (Patched, mind you with colors!), my primary chain belt, stole the keys, the change in the ashtray and left the truck where it was parked.
About three weeks later I get a call from the bartender in a joint over in the next town who tells me that there is some biker wannabe drinking there wearing a jacket that looks a whole lot like mine. I tell the bartender to keep him drinking 'cause we are on the way. When we got there, sure as Hell, it was my jacket and by the time we were finished with the little chat we had with the guy, I had my jacket back, my belt back, all the money that he had on him, which was a bit more than it cost to repair the truck and the keys and title to his motorcycle.
And tipped the bartender a whole lot!
I chose to not prosecute him and gave the motorcycle to my nephew. The guy had to have a few stitches I think but didn't get any broken bones. By the way, do you know why they make pool cues thick at the bottom?
This happened about two weeks after my forced transfer from active duty to the Radioactive Reserve and I was in a really bad mood.
