Most sites are too lazy / cheap to serve ads from within their own domain.

Ideally, the site in question should remotely grab (and cache for future requests) the 3rd party ads and serve them from their own domain.

And for completeness, add a separate text link under / near the various ads, so even those running with very aggressive ad blocking settings will still likely see the ad links.

I'm amazed that in 2010, most 3rd party ad serving is still done the same old way making sites load slow / unreliable - most web surfers have experienced page loading problems due to some 3rd party ad server being too far away, not necessarily in physical distance, but in regards to internet topography, and/or overloaded.
