If you go Android, go HTC. Their interface is the least obtrusive. Do not go with Motorola. When the software is updated they take the longest to update because their Moto Blur crap takes forever for them to recode. Samsung barely got their UI to even work with Android so if you go with them your phone will run a lot slower!

So stick with HTC and they also have the largest community by far for modding the phone. There are tons of root ROMS at xda developers (google it) for HTC phones (and other brands too).

I have owned a phone by all of the manufacturers mentioned above so I know first hand what the experience is like with all of them. I will never buy another phone not made by HTC!
