Sure, the center would be vulnerable in that position so I would think the NFL would have made it a rule to snap between the legs to prevent any injury just like they let the quarterback slide or no leading with the helmet and so on.

I find it hard to believe that is a legitimate play and if it were I would think coaches would have variations of it in their play book like hiking the ball to one of the backs or even the tight end.

I need to see the rule book
