I have seen Genesis and Pete Gabriel live several times. I took my Mother to a Peter Gabriel show at the smallish San Jose Civic a few years before she passed away, and it was so fun because the band assembled at the back of the hall and then marched through the audience to the stage, and we tagged along right behind them. My Mom got a real kick out of that.
Ironically, Genesis with Phil Collins was playing the same night at a large arena in Oakland, and so Peter Gabriel thanked the audience at his show for choosing to attend his show, by doing an extra long medley of old Genesis songs:
