Like the average guy is worried about buying a fucking mansion. If anything, this article show how out of touch with reality these guys are.

I would say its about your state of mind.
If you run a business you look after the pennies.
We have (in my family) an old story.
My nans dad (my great grandad) was wealthy.
But he saved money.
One of his tricks was (as I was told) is that if somone came for teahe would fill up a cup of water and pour it into the kettel. So if 4 people wanted a cup of tea, he would poor in 4 cups of water. So he never boiled any more water than was going to drink.
Now you may say, are they daft. If your rich why not spend it.
Well often these people are rich from investing there cash. And thats often how they see cash, as an investment. So while you may go out for a pizza, that rich chap will think, is the pizza a good investment. He will probably think, while its true I could make it at home for less, by the time I do it will cost me a lot of time. Conclusion, its fine to buy the pizza.
Often too, you find rich people are self made. Often they had no cash as a child so they see buying say a pair of jeans at say $400 somthing wrong.
Also often I suspect they feel no need to show off there cash. It shows they are secure in themselves.
Though it has to be pointed out that 'showing your wealth' in the USA is sort of part of the environment. Ie, that odd looking chap who does the usa appentace has an office all in gold. No one with any taste in the UK would ever have a room like that. When he showed off that vile gold table I cringed.
