Yup -- I'm a major McLaughlin fan. I'm particularly fond of the first live Shakti album. IMO, that album has some of the most amazing lead guitar work ever recorded on an acoustic guitar. The clarity of each individual note, the dynamic range, the tone... all simply out of this world.
I'm not as into McLaughlin's more recent recorded work, but I will still go see him live any chance I get. It has been a while since I last caught him, which was in a quintet with Dennis Chambers on drums and Pino Palladino on bass.... pretty amazing show.
