It's because eBay is unbelievable anal about their seller ratings which effect where you show up in the results. Losing a fraction of a point can be the difference between $5,000 per month and $1,000 per month for some sellers.
The real reason a lot of people won't ship to canada is because everyone and their brother on ebay is a retail location and not just mom and pop slinging shit on ebay for some extra cash. There are a lot of brand names that forbid US sellers from selling to canadians because their retail prices are so much less than those found in canada. Apple, Vans, Fox, Thor, KTM are just some examples of companies that if you are a distributor in the US you will have signed an agreement to not distribute into canada. Are you going to risk losing your brands over a 20 dollar tshirt shipped to some hippy in canada? not likely.
