I'm configuring a notebook (M6500) on the Dell site and the base model comes with 4GB of Ram. The additional cost to upgrade to "16.0GB, DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM, 4 DIMMS" is $991.00 but if you want to add another 16GB and go for the "32.0GB, DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM, 4 DIMMS" option the additional cost is $8,595.00. Why would the second 16GB cost more than 8 times that of the first 16GB? BTW, these prices are referring only to the cost of the actual memory upgrade and do not include the cost of the actual system itself. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated!
