couple points then back to work. people like you, me, gfy that sit in front of a big tower cranking out websites can't conceptualize how people use the net now with phones, fb and such. but in the end it does not matter what WE think things are or should be, it just matters what THEY are doing. you are not selling to yourself, and your tastes, behaviors and preconceptions maybe out of line with the rest of humanity, which is most likely true when you spend the majority of your day in a room pressing buttons to generate money.

For a lot of people thats now how they conect to the net.
I know people who are using there pc far less (in some cases now not at all).
They sit all day posting rubish to there friends.
And becase its on a camera in means they can take pics and vid and upload live.
I heard in the last week or so, somone say that facebook is for the young and twitter for the mature.
I think many of us still live in the past if they think 'domain sites' still matter.
The net is facebook. Turn your phone on, and its there as an apt.
Phones are replacing computers more and more. For most people a phone is everything they need. Its portable, small, includes a camera, and you can serfe the web. What is more, they are cheap. very very very cheap.
In fact I chatted to a few who I went to school with to email me. They sent me a message on facebook saying they do not have email. Facebook is there 'email'.
This may be a shock for some people. BUT.....
In a few years people may no longer serfe the web.
They will simply load apts. An apt for facebook, youtube, twitter. Thats it.
In otherwords all those who have sat on domain names that a few years ago may have sold for millions, may find they are worth soon less than a can of beans.
Do not foprget the net re-invents itself.
Before we had websites we basickly had usernets (or whatever they were called).
Then websites took over.
But websites are limited.
I predict apts will be the new players.
Websites may migrate to facebook. A lot of sites are simple. They can easily be copied to facebook. And then simply forward the domain name to that facebook page to build up a fanbase.
in the next few years we will see apts on far more electronic devises.
TV's are already being more 'apt' like. Many now let you watch youtube on your tv.
