I'm warming up to this. I love the whole "everyone in the world is dead but us" just like in "The Stand".
However camping out in the middle of the woods with no defenses is pretty dumb. It's only a matter of time before something happened. I'm not saying that camping out in the middle of the city is a good idea either, but your gonna need a building for defenses sooner or later.
