It's probably a bit of a generalisation but black people seem more susceptible to religious belief.
It's Sunday. Church attendance in the general population here has been in decline for years but if you go to a black area there will be a lot of people that went to church this morning.
It adds up though: Islam is the fastest growing faith. 80% of prison religious conversions are to Islam. US prison inmates are 60% African American. Less than 1% of Americans are Muslim.
