Yeah, it is a pain, eh? The people who complain, "bloody Canadian government, they just let everyone in!" don't really know what they're talking about.

I remember we compiled about 6 inches of documentation for the immigration lawyer, and the application that got submitted was probably 2.5 inches thick. Then later on we had to send in another inch worth of shit. We did get approved though.

Why don't you just get married? It's WAY easier applying with a marriage certificate, then going the common-law route. And getting her PR status probably isn't something you want to fuck with, and have the chance of her getting denied. That would fuck your life, I'm assuming. Just head out camping for a weekend, grab a marriage certificate while you're at it with a couple friends for witnesses, and have your actual wedding later. That's what we did.

Yeah, but that's understandable though, no? I had to do the same. It's just to make sure new immigrants don't suck the system, and are self reliant.
