People from the LA area back then may recall KROQ was the "punk" station at the time. I was driving home from closing the bar when they interviewed some guy from 999 and at the end they were giving tix to the 10th caller (or something like that), I called when I walked in the door and won tix to see 999 and the dead kennedys. I knew nothing of either of them.
We get to the S&M Civic, and I have decent seats, with my seat being on the aisle. As soon as the lights went down the music started and everyone stood up. So much for my great seat. So I stand up and step into the aisle so I had an unobstructed view.
After several minutes I am slammed from behind by some guy doing the pogo. Not knowing what was going on I spun around, ready to clock the first person within range. The look on this punkers face as he tried to pogo back up from whence he came was something I remember 25 years later.
