State GOP leaders may seek DeLay pardon - More Payback and/or corruption?

State GOP leaders may seek DeLay pardon after he got them in power...

Does it stinks of more GOP Corruption and Payback?

According to today's Austin American Statesman:

Members of the State Republican Executive Committee plan to consider a resolution this weekend calling on Gov. Rick Perry to immediately pardon former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, who last week was convicted on felony counts of conspiracy and money laundering.

If approved by the group's Resolutions Committee on Friday, it would go to the full executive committee, made up of state senators who are select-
ed at the GOP convention and serve as a board of directors, of sorts, for the state party.

The resolution, submitted by committee member Clint Moore of Spring, calls for a total pardon "in order to end the absurd political circus and gross abuse of our judicial system" in Travis County and for an end to the Travis County district attorney's authority to prosecute state and federal elected officials.
