I guess it depends on who you talk to. Most everything I have read suggests whites should be stored at 5-10 cooler than reds (45f)

I am aware that some compressors are worse than others, but from what I am reading you get more vibration from opening and closing the door, and this is really only an issue if you are storing for long periods of time (more than a couple of years). I have yet to have a bottle last a year.
