On this day 20 years ago
...friends of mine lost their two year old son. He was at work and his wife and son were at home. She and the two year old were outside in the front of the house and she was watching him play with his new Xmas toys. The phone rang and she went in to answer the phone. She was on the phone less than 30 seconds and when she went back outside their son lay crushed and dead.
Their house didn't have a yard per se and a dirt road passed directly in front of it...a drunk 16 year old girl had run over him. She was visiting with neighbors a few houses down the street. The mother saw the car as it stopped at the neighbor's. The 16 year old claimed that she did not see the little boy.
