I used to make video games for a living, and realistic, just isnt feasible because:

1) The video game industry attracts too many amatuers - "Yeah I can do that, hire ME". Think of all the guys that claim they can do porn...yeah...kinda like that.

2) "Amatuer" isn't just for programmers either. it's amatuer designers and managers that don't plan ahead, run into problems, don't know how to handle them and everything breaks down. Alot of time (read: money) is wasted on bug fixing, duplication, meetings, artwork and code that is tossed out. Only 1/4 video games actually ship. Imagine if 3/4 of the content you shoot, was thown away because it was shit (bad lighting, poor angles, newbie photographer, he forgot to save them in something other than 640x480 image size...or an ugly model...whatever).
