It is not like he is the first president to take a vacation. All presidential vacations and trips are expensive. You can't expect the president of the United States to grab his two bags,hop on a Southwest flight, rent a car and stay at a motel 6 and just have a cell phone you can call if you need him for anything.
Anywhere he goes, no matter where it is or why he is going there, he has a team that travels with him and it isn't cheap. It has always been this way, but right now everyone is hyper aware of every dollar that is being spent so Obama would catch hell if he spent an extra few bucks to get the quilted bath tissue to wipe his ass with.
