It all happened after the Biafran war. Basically two tribes to got together (Igbo) and (Ibibio) to fight off Brittan and who brittian supported, a tribe called the (hausa). Well, as most things go when the color gradient get's somewhat dark, there was backstabbing and subterfuge and betrayal. The Ibibio sold out the Igbo and that's how the hausa remained in power and how Nigeria is a muslim country today.
That's it pretty much in a nutshell.
