Say that maybe less than 50% would be inclined to even give you the right answer of which one of the two gave the best result for their traffic. So that means at most 9-18 would give the right indication.

And that is not a very large sample to choose from. Main point being, if you're not happy with the number of conversions, why not just make the switch without the hassle of announcing it? Give it a try for a month and then see for yourself what works, and maybe you will be back here around February 10th and let us know how things went for you.
