You say it was not designed to be modified - then you follow that up in the very next sentence with agreeing that it was designed to be modified. Make up your mind.
The amendment process is exactly that - the INTENT that the Constitution SHOULD be modified, expanded on, clarified and interpreted as conditions require.
The right to bear arms is NOT IN THE CONSTITUTION - it is SIMPLY an amendment - NO DIFFERENT than the 18th Amendment which is the PROHIBITION of ALCOHOL.
