design does matter. have 2 of anything and package one in a better design and it will sell better.
actually there are a few instances where this may not be true. if you are selling old fashioned hand made chairs in a new plastic packaging , might be better to have hand labels with no packaging.. or organic foods etc where the goal is less waste
