i hear what you are saying and do not disagree about comfort foods. but i do think we've been taught that. it's not in our evolutionary history to seek emotional comfort via foods. quite the opposite even. i think we learned that from advertising over time. wouldn't you say that when all is said and done, one doesn't actually benefit emotionally from eating comfort foods? eating that way actually makes things worse.
