Sales always come to life around xmas, it's called computers, smart phones, and portable electronics. And... xmas isn't just on the 25th.
It's very easy to plot the cycle of the moon and query the stats against it. No sales pattern, growth, up or down happens based on the phases of the moon. Unless it's full moon or no moons during the Super Bowl, during the World Cup or during the Olympics - and that's why sales suck so bad.
What DOES change sales cycles is what day the 31st and 16th are on. If it's a Monday, sales suck that week, but 2 weeks later they will be good. If it's a Friday, this weekend will be strong and next will suck. Various payday patterns and long weekends can greatly change sales patterns.
